Biographical
Hi, my
name is Leah JH Stob, I am a designer and builder of anything artful that I
can get my hands on. Over the last 10 years & through my business “Lure FI”,
I helped clients bring design and quality creative products into their
lives. My specialties include furniture, Interior design, space planning,
built-ins and graphic design. No matter the art-form, it has always been my
focus to create unique work for my clients using multiple mediums and
one-of-a-kind designs. It was a joy creating new spaces for my clients,
working one on one with them to give them truly unique products and
services. Lure FI’s custom business is no longer active. However, I still
create furniture and graphics and continue on my artistic adventures.
In 1995 I applied to MCAD and was accepted into the program with a portfolio
of paintings and sculpture. It didn't take me long to find the 3-d shop
where I fell in love with furniture (A Minnesotans practical artful
expression). In 1997 I transferred to U of Arts in Philadelphia where I had
the special opportunity to intern with my mentor Jack Larimore. I also
studied with Roy Superior, Craig Nutt, and other artists, whose philosophy
of design and craft will stay with me forever. Laughter makes the world go
round, never take yourself seriously enough to forget that inspiration is in
everything. I treasure my time with them and inspire to always create work
that brings joy. In 1999 I received my BFA from U of Arts.
After graduation I returned home to Minnesota. 10 years later... many
experiences and relationships brought me to where I am today. I am proud of
my accomplishments, but as most artists will tell you, it’s not enough. I
look forward to more adventures and fresh inspiration.
Recently my artistic adventures include, Vine Arts Center (director), The
Seward Arts Festival (coordinator), and working on a series of playful
artworks.
